Creative Writing Rising 4th-6th Graders
Mondays July 18, 25, August 1 and 8
5:30-6:30 PM $99
During this 4-week workshop, you will explore new ideas, create surprisingly fun work, and be inspired by other young writers! While using your creative minds, you will produce completely unique & original writing in the form of short stories, character sketches, poetry, and much more! Additionally, we will focus on the organization and format of writing solid paragraphs. There will also be opportunity for peer review and sharing! Please bring a pen or pencil, a folder, and looseleaf. Additional handouts will be provided. Come discover the joy of writing!
Creative Writing Rising 7th - 9th Graders
Wednesdays July 20, 27, August 3 and 10
5:30 - 6:30 PM $99
This four-session workshop focuses on the art of writing poetry and personal narrative. From finding inspiration to exploring your own writing style, you will develop more confidence in your creative abilities. We will study poetry and storytelling techniques, learning to choose words wisely and to place them in powerful ways. Please bring either a pen/paper or a laptop so that you can write and edit during our time together. Handouts will be provided. The workshop will also offer opportunities for peer review and for reading aloud. Come share your ideas and talents!
